You're partially right. AFAIK with journaling filesystem (like the ext3)
this shouldn't be an issue. I'm not dumping the partition with dd,
istead I mount the snapshot read-only.
I'm using rsync- so it reads the filesystem. Files not been written
totally should not be seen in the snapshot.
