I am sorry, but we are not going to do it that way because of the amount of 
work involved, and the "messiness" it would cause.  I am sorry, I just don't 
have the time to go into a detailed explanation.   Each version of the manual 
is separate, and it is already hard enough to keep that up to date, and 
mixing them is a mess -- we have already put version numbers in the text, and 
in my opinion it is not a good idea.

The things that we will do:
- we have a project to put all versions of the manual up on the web site, so 
it will be much easier to find your version.

- I'll look at putting the version on the top of each page.

- We have made a new chapter (much more work) that explicitly lists and 
describes the new features in the next version.  If the final work is not too 
much (it will not be easy), we will continue this.
