That would have been my strong suggestion: do
a dd of the JFS partition and resize when done. (Does parted understand
JFS? Use that if it does: it'll be even faster.)
Given a pretty pedestrian 30MB/s transfer rate you're
talking 10 hours to complete the copy. Like Les said: I can't
imagine being able to take a production backup server down for a *week*,
and if it's not a production server then you probably aren't copying the
pool! :)
