You missed the revolution, Jane, when my old createion the Service Pointconnection of the early 90's was superceded by the Mult-System Manager.MSM provides an agent for NetView for AIX (don't remember if it alsosupports Solaris) and support on the S/390 side to do what the oldAIX-SP does (traps to alerts) over a TCPIP session. The MSM support atthe 390 also translates the other way (alerts to traps).The total solution allows "discovery" of the topology known to NV-Unixand places the data in the RODM database. The BSM or NV-390 graphicsconsole then will display the TCPIP topology maps. They are the samelayouts as provided by NV-Unix but use the NV-390 graphing techniques.I still believe in SNA but it just never made sense to put the SNAsupport on the AIX box just to link the NetViews.Hope this helps Peter.
