EMC NetWorker 8.0SP1 Installation Guide, chapter 4, page 40:

        * A NetWorker 7.6.x server supports NetWorker 8.0SP1 storage node.

I would, however, recommend you read the "NetWorker Technical Guidance
to Upgrading NetWorker 8.0 and Later" doc, especially the "Known Problems"
list starting on page 37.

I encountered some poorly documented incompatibilities between 8.0.1.x and
7.6.2.x systems, but the tech notes indicate that's Linux<->Linux only.
