Hello, Josh: I set up a RDX with Bacula several years ago. I chose the option 
to work it like if it was a tape library (there is his option at its web 
console).
For Bacula is much easier to set up and the transfers probably faster (but I 
couldn't find any document on that). The downside is you can only recycle the 
whole cartridge (atomic transaction, just like a tape). The customer is happy 
until today.

Ps.: I wonder if know one ever thought of 3d printing those HD cases (for test 
purposes). And maybe evolve it into an open standard (Open RDX)?
