Enable rsync logging on the PC. (It's a setting in rsyncd.conf.) See if 
you get any log activity when you try to connect to it.

 From your BackupPC server, try a simply TCP connection with "telnet 
edukes1 rsync" and hit Enter a couple times. You should get something 
like this:


Escape character is '^]'.


@RSYNCD: 30.0
@ERROR: protocol startup error
Connection closed by foreign host.
