I compiled 7.2.0 on around 50 VMs, I had a problem on one of the 50. I tried to identify the difference between
that VM and could not so I ended up going to the version before and it compiled on that VM. I don't remember which
VM it was but if you need the info I will dig through my backup notices and find it, otherwise it is fine running
from the previous version for now. We don't use RPMs for Bacula, always compile.

Hello,

Doing:

./configure ... options
make

would be fine and allow you to see if Bacula builds correctly on your system.

What you do want to avoid in your particular situation is doing:

make install  # do not do this

Best regards,
Kern

Isn't hurt me you're right but what about if I want to update the release? I will need to compile again and that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. If you tell me that I can compile and then update using repository then good I can compile and try if not I prefer to wait

It can't hurt to just do a test configure and build.
