We have a dedicated server with 16 x 750gig sata disks in raid 5 (3ware card)
gives us about 9.6TB of usable space. All our servers rsync to this, then I run
bacula locally. We're using an IBM TS3100 (24 tape changer) with an LT0-4 drive
connected via sas. We should be doing 100mb/sec+ but I need to tweak bacula.
We're still on 1.38 (debian pkg), I need to get around to installing 2.4 but it
is stable and isn't causing any problems at the moment. Everything is stored
locally on the dedicated server, so I've only need to recover data from tapes
which are generally months old.
Recovering data with bacula is very fast :)
Hope this helps.
Simon
