Im showing correct ownership of that folder and it's files now.  

when i ssh -l root cableweb3.ca whoami;

Now, it looks like it appended that rsa key to the known hosts file in 
/var/lib/backuppc/.ssh, which is wierd because i was under the impression that 
was part of the key exchange instructions already.  

I just started backing up that server and its pulling data like mad.


I really appreciate the help guys, this problem was gonna give me a tumor 
eventually.
