Hi all.
The saga continues.

When I attempt to do a backup I get the following error log. I've double checked my config settings using BackupPC_Admin. I'm not sure what is wrong. I might point out that I have the system set to user rsyncd but it seems to be trying to use tar.

Contents of file /var/lib/backuppc/pc/localhost/XferLOG.bad.z, modified
2012-04-19 17:03:35 (Extracting only Errors)

Running: /usr/bin/env LC_ALL=C /bin/tar -c -v -f - -C /etc --totals
--exclude=./var/backups --exclude=./var/log --exclude=./var/lock
--exclude=./var/tmp ./etc ./home ./root ./var
full backup started for directory /etc
Xfer PIDs are now 23040,23039
/bin/tar: ./etc: Cannot stat: No such file or directory
Where does the "." at before "/etc" comes from? Have you entered them? I don't think they should be there but I'm not sure as I use rsync, not tar.

I have no idea where the "." are  coming from. I sure didn't put them in. I should be using rsync also but it keeps trying to run tar. The entries in BackupPC_Admin are all of the form /var or /var/log. No periods no quites.
