/BackupPC is linked to /var/lib/BackupPC ;
the archive file is on my external disk:
48835580 -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc
50007623015 Jun 7 03:54 helen.481.tar.gz

Yes, I started with "rsync -auvz" but found this was giving
an enormously large copy, much larger than the original.
So I changed to "rsync -auvzH" and now it is the same size.
