I wasn't suggesting that for a moment.  I'm saying there must be
someone here who can tell me what to grep for in terms of error
messages.

Yes.   Reams and reams and reams of stuff that looks benign to my
untrained eyes.  "Got file"  "Receiving" "Sending" and so on.  And on.
 And on.

Then I tried grepping out all lines with "Got file".  Then in addition
to that all lines with "Receiving".  Then in addtion to that all with
"Sending empty csums", then "pollChild".   And still there are reams
and reams and reams of data that look benign to my untrained eyes.
