Sorry to take so long to get back to everyone on this. I had one of my
contractors  decide he did not want to work, so I have been trying to do
his job, and mine :-(

In any case, today I took a crossover cable, and set up a direct 192.169
connection between my Amanda master machine and one of the OpenBSD machines
in the lab.

h behavior is exactly the same. That is, check passes, estimate gets done,
and the dump fails in mid dump. It is interesting that the files on the
dumpdisk are of varying sizes, so it's not like the dumps are not getting
started.

Now that we have eliminated the firewall issues. what can I do next to
further diagnose this failure?
