Amanda (and most other programs AFAIK) call this incremental.

Incremental lvl N = all that has changed since the last level N-1.
(for N = 1 .. infinity).

Does Amanda Supports this kind of backup.
I would like to tell you that i Was using "GNUTAR" in dumptype  when
iam testing Partial full backup.
Is it neccessery to use only "DUMP" program to get partial full backup.
