I duly copied in runtar, and installed gnutar, but I still get an error for
gnutar.
You have to "./configure --with-gnutar=/your/path/gnutar ..." and
recompile the amanda client.
The absence/presence of GNUTAR is hardcoded into the amanda binaries.
(One of the TODO things).
And...
bash-2.03$ which tar
/netapp/packages/mus-local/SunOS/5.8/bin/tar
bash-2.03$ /netapp/packages/mus-local/SunOS/5.8/bin/tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.12
That's a bad version of tar with known bugs (which will bite you when
you want to restore). Use GNU tar 1.13.25 found in:
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/tar/tar-1.13.25.tar.gz
