Well, I think I goofed. The backup finished, but not successfully. I ran
out of tapes, though I shouldn't have. I think the problem is that the
drive has hardware compression turned on (IIRC, it's a dip switch and I
have to take the cover off the changer to switch it off), and I was
using software compression to archive. That generally grows the data,
not to mention my ftp dir. has many .tgz files in it (so those probably
got REALLY big :)

So, I'll have to check the drive later today, reconfigure the backup,
and try it again The Right Way. I still need to look at the xinetd
problem though. All in due time.

The good news is, after writing my own changer script and changing the
scsi-changer and Amanda code a little, I can use this changer to back up
my systems.
