Re: [ADSM-L] TSM 6.1 DB Backups

Thanks to Zoltan for pointing out the new backup/log requirements with
TSM 6.1
I've looked at the doc, and it doesn't explicitly say one way or the
other - Does each DB backup still require a separate tape?
If so this has significant ramifications for sites with small libraries
or ones close to capacity. eg a small site might use a TS3200 with
LTO4s and without sufficient log space this could double the number of
tapes in use. 4 tapes to offsite per day (3 db +1 data) will also
impact on tape handling as there are only 3 IO slots normally available
on a TS3200 and often no dedicated operations staff.
It seems like a bad idea to me, not only sqeezing out small users, but
also bigger users who might have a few small sites, and are then
required to consider a different product for them with all the
consequences of that.
Looks like I'd better brush up on those Backup-Exec skills. :)
