Veritas sells the Bare Metal Restore option.  It's not very expensive,
but it looks like it does a pretty good job of solving this issue.  I
went to a demo at their office and it was impressive, but we haven't
purchased any licenses yet (the cost is rumored to drop when 6 comes
out).
