Hi all,

=20

I'm trying to work out a method of restoring a complete Windows 2003
system to different hardware using only NBU software. Until now I'm
unsuccesful in my attempts. Does anyone of you have any experience with
recovering an entire machine to (very)different hardware? Any suggestion
would be very welcome!

=20

It is possible using a system state backup created with the internal
(backupexec) backup utility, by restoring this system state onto a
freshly installed system, containing all the correct drivers for the
different hardware, from within a safe mode session. The plug&play
mechanism will reinstall all devices. This method, however, requires
that I implement a local system state (Shadow Copy Components) backup to
harddisk which will be included in the filesystem backup of the entire
system bij NetBackup, effectively rendering the NetBackup Shadow Copy
Components backup selection useless...

=20

Hope anyone can help me!

=20

Kind regards,

Kaspar Bosma
