[Networker] missing barcode for tape in media database?

Hi,
We have a site with NetWorker 7.3.3 (Solaris 8), and we've seen some
tapes where there is no barcode listed in the volumes tab, although
the volume name matches the actual barcode.
The main issue is that when NetWorker goes to relabel this tape, it
fails with a "Duplicate tape" error, and loops retrying the operation.
We've tried the typical nsrck -m and nsrim -X, as well as removing
the keys and indexes for the media database and allowing it to repair itself.
Anyone have any thoughts, or has seen this before?
