  It can also mask drive problems.  When I first set up a
Sun L11000 (P3000) here I turned on autocleaning.  About
a week later I found a cleaning tape in the CAP.  One of
the drives had requested cleaning 20 times in that week
and I didn't know it because it was all handled inside
the library.  After that I turned on Tape Alert, but it
only works about 1/3 of the time.  I have to manually
request the cleanings the rest of the time.
