Yes, I use disk based file storage. It is a full backup but, I will turn gzip off and defrag it to see if I can improve the speed. Thanks for the advice and any additional advice is welcomed.

depends on many things.... compression enabled slows down, lots of small
files slow down.

backup speed has nothing to do with regular backup speed.
