Contrary to my previous post, that device does indeed claim specific
support for the autoloader you are using, although the autoloader
quickspecs state that using it on a RAID controller is not recommended.

Please check that any BIOS options for supporting tape drive passthrough
on the RAID controller are enabled

Also make sure you have enabled the kernel driver tape drive support
option for that the RAID controller (CONFIG_CISS_SCSI_TAPE=y in your
kernel .config)
