It seems to me that this is actually not a good thing. These posts may 
be annoying, but they would usually come from "newbies". So the fact 
that we don't see that on a mailing list may actually be an indication 
that we are scaring away those who would need support most?

Maintaining a knowledge base or FAQ may be a great idea if there is a 
volunteer who would do it. But it can never replace the richness of a 
collection of all messages ever exchanged related to getting bacula to 
work - you'd have an FAQ with thousands and thousands of entries.
