Nothing seems to spit the tape out of this LTO-3 scsi drive apart from "umount LTO-3" | bconsole and then mt eject
Don't use unmount. That blocks the tape drive so bacula cannot remount the new tape.

Use release as an admin or run after job

Doesn't work for me. After "release LTO" the eject button on the tape
drive remains disabled.

and add 'Offline On Unmount = yes' to your storage config.

That doesn't work for me either. What's more that option also has
various undesirable side effects, notably making the "label" command
unusable. (The tape is ejected and Bacula then complains it cannot
access it anymore, so the label operation never completes.)

So in my experience, "unmount" followed by pressing the eject button
on the drive (or "mt eject") is the only way of getting a tape out
of a standalone drive, and "mount" is the only way of getting Bacula
to notice a tape has been inserted.
