Hey folks.
Well I did a wipe again, then disabled the schedule like suggested.
After the initial full backup I did a manual daily backup followed by
one manual hourly backup. Then I re-enabled the schedule and let it run.
And guess what - It works as its supposed to.
Consider my case solved.
