24GB of RAM. Nothins installed except a CentOS7 minimal Installation and
added the BackupPC stuff.
Swap is not active at all. 

8core CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU     930  @ 2.80GHz is at around 10%
usage max.

System average load is around 0.3.

I disabled compression for openvpn by uncommenting "comp-lzo adaptive"
on the BackupPC side.

No change. Still the same.

If it would be related to hardware limits I should see one of the
hardware items be used, right? But memory, CPU, IO waits, network-
everything is close to idling.

Why is it still so slow?
