Most importantly in my experience, ver 2.x has issues with long file
names; also, it is less memory efficient and slower since I believe it
reads in the entire file list before starting. The bottom line is that
even though BackupPC doesn't use all the features of 3.x (it still
uses the older protocol version), it can benefit from bug fixes,
speed, and efficiency.
