When you are looking at clonezilla, it may seem very complicated since
some of the documentation is intertwined with drbl, a server-based
network booting system. If you aren't mass-cloning, look at the
clonezilla-live section instead. This is a bootable CD image or a
system you can put on a usb drive, that boots into a menu where you can
connect to a network server via nfs, samba, or ssh or use local storage,
then it will do a whole-disk or partition save or restore. It knows
enough about most windows and Linux filesystems to only save the used
space in the image and with the whole disk option it will reproduce the
partitioning and filesystems for you.
