Hello,

I have a problem here which I solve for now the "bad" way. I want to do a cold
backup of several Oracle databases, which means that the instances have to be
stopped. So, via cron, I stop them a full half hour before the backup begins
and restart them approximately one hour after the backup has completed.

There is NO Oracle client on the server and I don't plan to install one.

So, my question would be: is there a way to tell amdump to execute one or
several scripts just before the backup begins (and of course, wait that these
scripts complete)?

Thanks,
