IMHO, I think this is a quite common problem.
Moreover, a "tar wrapper" is not practical when there are several DLEs for the same host.
It would be very useful, for example, being able to specify a pre-action and a post-action for every dle.
Does anyone know if this is going to be addressed in some future release of Amanda?




I totally agree with Nicola. The pre and post-exec scripts for a DLE (or an entire host) should be part of amanda. One should not have to fiddle with wrapper scripts.  amanda should be easy to configure and to use.
