Sheesh, darnit Stan, why do you have to make it so outragiously
complicated?

IF the tapes are already labeled properly, and you have amanda's cron
run amcheck say at 12 noon, amcheck will look for the right tape if it
doesn't find it, and it will make one complete pass thru the library
looking for it before it gives up. It will send you an email advising
you of any failure, and you'll know in plenty of time to take
corrective action.

FWIW, amdump is also capable of this action, but it won't tell you
somethings fubar'd until its too late to fix this run.

Have you yet cracked a manpage for amanda? From the questions asked,
its apparent you have not, choosing instead to ask questions here, the
answers to which are in the manpages or the FAQ, and when we answer
you, you still won't do it the right way, argueing with folks that have
been running amanda for 5 or more years, repeatedly, until you stumble
onto something that manages to work, mostly.

I hate to resort to an old saw with unpleasant connotations, but Read
The Fine Manuals.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
