Amanda has a FILE driver to allow backups to disk rather than tape.
Amanda has a RAIT driver to allow multiple tapes to be either strips
or mirrors.
I've not heard of it being attempted, but perhaps you could
RAIT mirror some virtual tapes using the FILE driver. One
reflection could be on each RAID device.
