Are you able to "see" the clients via "smbclient -L winbox" (edit
hostname, please ..)

I assume that the access to the Win-shares lacks the right
permissions.

I have not written it up, no.
But you should get it working, there is no real showstopper.

I would recommend to upgrade because there have been loads of changes
in AMANDA and Samba since the versions you have. It is also
recommended to compile AMANDA yourself to get the benefits of
pre-compile options that are site-specific.

You will get assistance, yes. That's what this list is there for.

If we find that it is a Samba-problem, we will try to help off-list or
on the Samba-list.
