Do you get any error messages? What does AMANDA tell you?
WhatŽs in the logfiles for AMANDA and/or Samba?

763534336 bytes are ~765 GB ?
Why not split your DLEs into smaller chunks?

Is it a typo or did I get that calculation wrong?

Provide us with slightly more details, and we will try to help you.

Exact versions of Samba, AMANDA, [global]-part of smb.conf, etc ...
