Jesus how could this happen!! I was going to recover the /usr/local
directory that i backup up earlier. I forgot to move to a new empty test
directory and I issued the extract command on my /root directory.
For my despair, before the tar begins to extract the backup files, it simply
deleted ALL /root contents, and did it without issuing any question!!
AAAAHHHHHHH HELP!!! HEELLLPPPPP!!!!

How can amanda function this way? why doesn´t it simply overwrite the
existing files, as is the common "tar -xtvz" behaviour.

See bellow the shameless tar messages about "cleaning up" all my /root
directory!!:

./bin/
./doc/
./etc/

(and the backup extraction continued....)

How!! How!!

On the amrecover manual there isn´t a warning like "DANGER: THE RESTORING
PROCESS CAN ALSO DELETE ALL YOU FILES..."
