Michael,
We deal with DLT 4000's on an STK 9730. Another department within
Liberty backs up to a 9710. I can completely relate to the problems you
have been sealing with regarding tapes unloading, errors, etc. We have
13 9730s as of now, which get bombarded with user restores daily. On a
daily basis I am having to check a library for misplaced or stuck tapes.
We have also been receiving I/O errors on 2 servers at random and have
tried everything, I mean everything, to fix it but to no avail. Very
strange. I think they are possessed.... :-> Otherwise, they work
fine!

Anyway, I can't offer any specific solutions, only a sympathetic ear.
Let me know if you want anymore info.

Jennifer
