We are backing up RedHat AS 3 clients with an HP-UX master server. We
were running 4.5 FP 6. (We've just upgraded our master to 5.0 but the
client hasn't been upgraded.) =20

=20

I wouldn't think a "client" as opposed to a "media server" should be an
issue so long as you installed the Linux 2.4 client rather than the
Linux 2.2 client (both were available from my server). You may want to
check and see if you have both versions available. (AS 3 media servers
are only supported under NBU 5.x.)

=20

Sorry I can't answer the question about MP6 but figured I'd let you know
it definitely works with FP6.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Problem with linux client/netbackup 4.5 MP6

=20

=20

We have locally installed a linux client with NetBackup-RedHat2.4
4.5MP6 and are getting the following error when doing a telnet to the
client on port 13782

- Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno or h_errno directly=20

Our master server is running on NBU 4.5 MP6 platform: HPUX 11i=20

We have been told that Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon) is
only supported with the 4.5 FP6 version of NBU, not 4.5 MP6.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?=20
Do we have to reinstall Netbackup Master Server with 4.5 FP6 (apparently
FP6 is a re-install).=20
Anyone out there have any ideas?=20

Regards,=20
Laura.=20
