[Networker] Backing up to CIFS, NFS
2008-03-20 10:46:00
Hi
I'm going to be satisfying my curiosity on backing up to CIFS and NFS using
NetWorker. I've read the NetWorker documentation, so know how to configure it
and what is/isn't supported.
But what are the hints-and-kinks I won't read in the manual? What about
performance? Are there NFS/CIFS tuning knobs I should know about? What about
jumbo frames (good/bad/does NetWorker just use them)?
For that matter, I've searched for a good primer/introduction on NFS and CIFS,
as a backup person would want to know it. Got a favorite, or even a reasonable
one?
Many thanks!
