Re: [Bacula-users] Multiple Storage (and Director) Daemons

Hi,
2011/5/12 Mike Seda <maseda AT stanford DOT edu>
Hi All,
I'm currently attempting to architect a Bacula solution for an
environment of 100+ clients with 15+ TB of total data (5,000,000+ files).
During my research on the above solution, I read that it's possible to
run multiple storage (and director) daemons. This was very interesting
to me, but I'm just wondering what the reasons would be for doing so.
The main reason would be a scalability, tiering or network/site architecture. You can scale up your backup bandwidth by adding more storage daemons and splitting clients into a separated groups.
If you have different backup media (disks, tape libraries) connected into different servers then you can use all of them with more storage daemons. You can have a very restricted environment - dmz, remote sites, etc. so you will deploy more storage daemons to serve all your needs.
Thanks In Advance,
You welcome.
