With a guruplug you can do SMB, NFS, or iSCSI with debian on the device and connect your external USB drives via USB2.  Device has 1 Gigabit ethernet and 2 USB2 connections for $99.  $129 gets you another Gigabit ethernet and eSATA and a microSD slot.

You also get wifi built in if you REALLY want it to be wireless but filesharing over wireless isnt really that fun.

1.2Ghz ARM + 512MB DDR2 RAM.

You can put a hub on here if you like for more than 2 USB drives but you would get slowdown from that.

Additionally, you can do RAID1 on two external drives or ATA over Ethernet etc etc since you get a full debian on the device.

oh, and it uses just 5W of power.
