This means that the files couldn't be linked to the pool/cpool and
instead the file is left (unlinked) in the pc tree. Could be due to a
hard link issue.

Yes it is very normal -- nothing to do with 'printf'. Rather %2f is
the code for "/" and 'f' is the normal file mangling. SO this is your
is '/' (root) share.
