Doesn't that have the disadvantage of having to repeat copies of 
everything that changed since the last swap?  Maybe that doesn't matter 
if all the targets are local.  Also, if you just have two copies, aren't 
they both in the same place when you swap?  I'm a little too paranoid 
for that.
