What I want to do is put the data pool onto a USB drive.

I would like to make sure that if the HDD were to corrupt one day, then
I could reformat the box with Debian stable, reinstall backuppc, and
then configure the CGI website to display the pool on the USB and what
is archived on the USB.

How do I go about keeping the pool on a USB drive and allowing a
seamless re-recognition of the pool?

P.S.

I'm on Debian stable now.
