If I understand you correctly:

[ken@Archiver ~]$ su -
Password: 
[root@WinServer ~]# su -s /bin/bash - backuppc
-bash-3.2$ ssh -l root WinServer whoami
root
-bash-3.2$

It works this way, too.  -- ken

Backuppc will connect using the *name* rather than the IP address. You
should test like this:

      su -s /bin/bash - backuppc
      ssh -l root <hostname> whoami

where hostname is what you have in your backuppc/hosts file
