With the feedback and help with command line, I was able to create the rsa
keys (Thanks Nils).  When I finished creating the keys, I ran the test given
in the instructions:

[root@Archiver .ssh]# su -s /bin/bash - backuppc
-bash-3.2$ chmod -R go-rwx ~/.ssh
-bash-3.2$ ssh -l root 192.168.1.101 whoami
Root     <=== This is an indicator for success!
-bash-3.2$

I reconfigured BackupPC for 'rsync' transfer mode.  I requested a full
backup and then checked the log file:

2008-10-13 12:41:18 full backup started for directory SHARE#1
2008-10-13 12:41:19 Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes)
2008-10-13 12:41:24 Backup aborted (Unable to read 4 bytes)
2008-10-13 12:43:21 full backup started for directory /WinServer/SHARE#1
2008-10-13 12:43:22 Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes)

OK, where do I go now?  -- ken
