Hi,
Very easy:

cat /proc/scsi/sg/device_strs
this gives for my system

IBM DNES-318350W SA30
IBM DCAS-34330W S65A
IBM DDYS-T18350N S93E
SyQuest SQ5200C 4AA0
PIONEER CD-ROM DR-U12X 1.06
SONY SDT-9000 0601
ADIC DAT AutoChanger 0360

now count your the devices listed before your changer,
my changer is the 7th-devices, linux counts from 0, so it uses /dev/sg6

quite easy, isn't it?

the reset is a little bit try-n-error.
But be aware chg-scsi in amanda-2.4.2 is broken.
i stumbled over this about 2 Jears ago, and was adviced by the developers
to get the chg-scsi-part of amanda 2.5 and use it with 2.4.2.

As you are trying to get amanda up, i would suggest you grab the sources of amanda 2.4.3 from www.amanda.org and compile it, it has many improvements
since amanda 2.4.2 including a working chg-scsi.....

hope it helps
Christoph

Hi Guys,
I am having a hard time configuring my chg-scsi.conf file. I am running
amanda-2.4.2-2-7 on Redhat 7.3 with an ADIC FastStor DLT7000 connected
to an adaptec raid card 2100S.
How do I find out with /dev/sgX settings to use in the chg-scsi.conf
file??
Thanks
Axel
