Hi,

I still go with ADSM 3.x and thus
could not test it,
but I believe the restore using a "backup set"
is very same as a restore with any other 3.rd party
backup tool.

Thus, after having restored with "backup set",
but having a newer on-line backup backup in *SM available,
you will be able to restore newer created files
by using "-replace=no" option
and later changed files by "-replace=yes -ifnewer" options.

The difference to a real, single on-line *SM restore is,
the files which had been deleted from your file system
between the time you created the "backup set"
and performed later incremental backup(s)
will remain restored on your FS,
possibly causing overflow of it,
or maybe another problems.
Not sure about attributes of directories changed
in the meantime (ACL´s etc.)

regards

Salak Juraj
