Are these folks using TSM?  I've gotta line up with Mr. Sims: why in the
world would you buy a sophisticated product like TSM only to use it in this
ridiculous fashion?  Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

Define your restore time requirements; backup using TSM the way it was meant
to be used; wait a couple of months; test your restores.  if you can't do
them within your restore time requirement, make changes to TSM to speed
restores (collocation, larger disk cache, whatever) and test again.

BTW, saying your restore time requirement is "as fast as possible" is
ridiculous.  It has to have a time, in hours and minutes to be valid.  I can
build an infinitely fast restore engine with infinite dollars.  I can also
build a restore engine that never restores for free.  Most folks have some
requirement in the middle.
